CUSTOMER PICKUP

The most economical method is for you to pick up your Amish furniture in "Amish Country" where it was built. We will be happy to give you directions and instructions to the Amish carpenter's location! Frankly, we discourage picking up your item directly from the carpenter because it is a bit disruptive to their working and living environment.

However, if you want to see the beautiful countryside in which your Amish furniture was made, then an alternative is to have PackShipUSA pick up your furniture, or items, from the Amish carpenter and bring the items to their shipping warehouse. The charge to do this is only $25 per shipment.

If you decide to pick up your Amish furniture yourself, either at the Amish carpenter’s shop or at PackShipUSA, be sure to bring a large enough truck or trailer. Padding material such as old blankets and tie downs are also recommended.

If you choose to pick up your Amish furniture yourself please pick up your order within 2 weeks of when we tell you it is ready or we will have to move it to our warehouse. A $65 hauling charge will be applied and you will incur a $100 per month storage charge. Of course, we don't want that to happen.

NORMAL DELIVERY VIA PACKSHIPUSA

1.) Shipping Charges:  The shipping charge which you will find in our shopping cart is for normal deliveries to curbside in front of your home. If you live in a particularly remote and difficult to reach area, extra shipping charges may be assessed. Obviously, we will obtain your permission before adding any charges.

2.) Cost:
Please compare the price of our Amish furniture to Amish furniture purchased in your local retail store. In all but a very few cases you will find that you can save hundreds and even thousands of dollars, even with shipping costs, by buying from Amish-Furniture-Gallery.

3.) Packaging and Protection:
We make sure each piece of Amish furniture is individually packed, crated and specially handled. During the packaging process, all touch points of your handcrafted Amish furniture (edges, corners,
sharp points) are packaged with a protective foam called Foam In Place (FIP). FIP is manufactured foam that is dispensed with a machine in a liquid state. While being dispensed, it expands and conforms to the
Amish furniture, creating a mold as it sets up.

This creates a custom fit around the touch points of each Amish furniture piece. A gray film is placed between the Amish furniture and the liquid foam so the FIP does not touch the furniture. All flat sides and tops are protected with 3/4" polystyrene sheets.

A custom box made from 275 pound test, double wall cardboard sheeting covers each piece of furniture. After boxing, large Amish furniture pieces are strapped to pallets for easy transfer by the carrier.

When you use our shipper, PackShipUSA, our Amish furniture is 100% insured against damages and is delivered in partial truckloads.  Please be advised that all piece of Amish furniture being shipped will be double checked to insure that there are no damages when leaving our location.

We have no hidden costs and you are welcome to arrange delivery on your own if you wish. Any damage incurred during transit of the pieces(s) while using your own delivery service or personal pickups are your responsibility.

4.)Curb Side Delivery and Inside Delivery White Glove Set Up: Please note the difference between
Curb Side Delivery
and Inside Delivery White Glove Set Up.  Curb Side charges are automatically calculated by our shopping cart. Inside Delivery White Glove Set Up is in addition to the shopping cart charges. The cost for Inside Delivery White Glove Set up is a minimum of $210 for up to 688 pounds and $30.50 for each additional 100 pounds. If you send us an e-mail asking for White Glove Inside Delivery we will add the charges to your account.

The difference between Curb Side Delivery and Inside Delivery White Glove Set Up is explained below:

CURBSIDE DELIVERY

Delivery Description: After the Amish furniture is thoroughly packed, it is shipped via less-than-truckload (LTL) common carrier (such as Yellow Freight, Roadway, etc.).

Once the shipment arrives to the destination terminal, PackShip USA will call you to let you know your Amish furniture has arrived at their location and provide you with the carrier’s phone number to call to schedule delivery.

The LTL common carrier will use a 28’ or 48’ tractor trailer unit to make delivery. The delivery will be made with
one driver and the trailer will not have a liftgate. You must have someone on hand at delivery to provide assistance to the driver during unloading of your amish furniture. Additional people may be required depending on the size of the order being delivered.

It is your responsibility to take the Amish furniture inside your home. Extra charges will apply if you request to have the shipment carried inside the home.

After unloading and before the driver leaves, you should inspect the furniture for damage. Product damage is
rare, however, if damage is found the customer should note the damage in the appropriate box on the Delivery Receipt (provided by the driver) and then sign. Contact PackShip USA immediately and a claim will be filed. (Note: If
there are any tears, indentations, or holes on the exterior of the package, but no damage is found, you should still note on the Delivery Receipt that the packaging contained holes and/or tears.) Each piece must be signed off by you or your agent. The delivery time for the Curbside Delivery method is 10-14 business days. This delivery method is always less expensive than the Inside Delivery White Glove Set Up method.

INSIDE DELIVERY WHITE GLOVE SET UP
This delivery method involves an Extra Charge in addition to the Shipping charges for Curbside Delivery shown in shopping cart. We do not recommend INSIDE DELIVERY WHITE GLOVE SET UP for small items or small orders which you can take into your house yourself or with the help of friends. We do recommend it for heavy and large items.

Delivery Description: When furniture is shipped to a customer for inside delivery with set up, two furniture movers from a specialty carrier such as Bekins or Mayflower will perform the delivery to your home. Once the shipment arrives at the specialty carrier’s local terminal, PackShip USA will call you to let you know it has arrived and provide you with the
carrier’s phone number to call to schedule delivery.

The specialty carrier will deliver the furniture in a 45’ or 48’ tractor trailer unit that will have a ramp and/or liftgate.

The two furniture movers will carry the furniture to the room(s) requested and set up the furniture (i.e., assemble beds, place
hutch tops on hutch bases, etc.). The charge for this delivery includes removing stairway railings, doors, door frames, and their reinstallation, if removal of these items is necessary to safely take the furniture the room you want it to be in. There will be an extra charge if the furniture movers have to carry the furniture up more than 16 steps.

Clearly, for small items, White Glove Inside Delivery doesn't make sense and we don't necessarily recommend it. However, you may find it very practical and cost effective for larger deliveries. Please note that for larger deliveries White Glove Inside Delivery will still cost much less than purchasing the same furniture at your local furniture store.

After unloading and before the drivers leave, you should inspect the furniture for damage. Product damage is rare,
however, if damage is found you should note the damage in the appropriate box on the Delivery Receipt (provided by the driver) and then sign.

Contact PackShip USA immediately and a claim will be filed. The delivery time for the Inside Delivery White Glove Set Up method is 14-21 business days.
