Frequently Asked QuestonsQ: HOW CAN YOU OFFER SUCH LOW PRICES?
All of our tables, and most case goods and bedroom sets are created in an Amish-owned shop by Amish builders. We bring them directly to you through this Internet store. This eliminates costly retail overhead so we can give you the best prices available! Other items come from local Amish builders with whom our supplier has formed a co-op. We work with them to give you the best quality at the lowest cost on the market.
Q: ISN'T THERE A RESTRICTION ON HOW LOW OF A PRICE YOU CAN IMPOSE?
Many brand name furniture stores have their retail prices dictated to them by the manufacturer. This assures the manufacturer that their furniture will be sold at similar prices everywhere. We and our supplier work directly with Amish builders who don't dictate our prices.
Q: ISN'T SHIPPING LARGE ITEMS SUCH AS ENTIRE DINING ROOM SETS EXPENSIVE?
We have been careful to make our furniture and shipping prices fully visible to you. We are also working to display the average retail prices that you may see in traditional stores. Please compare these retail prices with the our prices plus shipping. If price and quality are important to you we believe that you will choose to buy from us. Also note that you pay no sales tax if your items are shipped outside the state of Ohio.
Q: IS ASSEMBLY REQUIRED?
Many items are fully assembled, some are not. Don't panic! Table pedestals, feet and legs can all be attached with a 1/2" wrench. Directions will be included but you probably won't need them! It's quick and easy!
Q: HOW ABOUT DAMAGE? IS SATISFACTION GUARANTEED?
Absolutely! We inspect every piece from top to bottom for scratches and other damage before it leaves our location. Remember, solid oak, cherry, maple and walnut woods all have their own distinct grains and markings. That's what makes them each one-of-a-kind and gives them their own distinct charm and character.
Q: CAN I PICK MY ORDER UP?
Absolutely! We encourage you to take the trip! Ohio's Amish country is some of the most beautiful in the world and the culture is charming! We are also a short drive from Dresden (the birthplace of Longaberger Baskets), Cedar Point and Six Flags amusement parks, the Pro Football and Rock and Roll halls of fame, Cleveland and the Lake Erie islands. Simplicity or excitement . . . it's up to you! Please be sure to bring a truck or trailer large enough to carry home your order. Also remember that your furniture is held at the shop in which it was built. Bring appropriate padding material such as blankets, etc. to prevent damage on your trip home. Tie-downs, such as moving straps or bungees are also recommended. See Freight and Shipping Options. NOTE: Items not picked up within 2 weeks of notification will be sent to our warehouse. A $65 hauling charge will be applied. A $100 per month storage charge will also be applied after 30 days.
Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
It depends on the item ordered. Most items take between 10-12 weeks. Case goods, such as dressers, chest or drawers, hutches, etc. may take longer when work is delayed by snow and ice storms and depending upon the time of year. It's a short wait for several lifetimes worth of enjoyment!
